After a busy few months setting up our new Harwood surgery, the web site has become a little outdated. Today and over the next few days there will be some updating of pages to reflect the new surgery and hopefully, a few improvements. This is all part of our aim to keep a useful and up-to-date website.

Bird Flu has no reached France and has been found in domestic Turkeys. There is still no reason to be concerned as the disease is not yet spreading between humans. However, we suggest that all bird keepers, whether poultry or parrots, keep up-to-date with the current news and advice from DEFRA. Our section on bird flu tries to keep the most up-to-date information available.

The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of the web site has had a large number of extra sections and questions added. Here we try to answer the common questions on such varied subjects as fleas, worms, vaccinations, payment terms, pet insurance and neutering. To ask a question not on this site, e-mail us at faq@penninevets.co.uk and we will do our best to answer as many as possible. We are not able to answer individual questions about your pet through this site, you will need to see a vet with your animal, although we hope to answer the general questions we get asked.

A new Animal Welfare Bill is going through Parliament at the moment. This replaces a series of laws dating back to 1911 and improves the conditions and welfare for all animals. Pennine Vets fully supports the new Bill and we are closely following its passage through Parliament. We will provide a summary of this important legislation later in the year when more information is available.
